Update

Alright, here's my weekly update. According to how much I weighed when we first got home from Christmas, I have lost 4 lbs. so far. The first pounds always go faster, so I'm anticipating that this week will be a little more difficult.

Goals

I have been doing really well on my eating and water drinking goals, but haven't exercised once. Part of this is because my freaking leg is retarded, and the other half is probably due to school and sick kids who don't sleep. This week I hope to exercise at least twice so I can start feeling better.

Confessions

It's been really hard not to want to eat after dinner, and last night I had a little bit of a binge at about midnight. The good thing is that it didn't affect my weight. I think that I'm going to allow myself one night a week where I can eat after dinner. I haven't had any Coke yet, and don't really want one quite yet. My fear is though that I'll feel like this for another week or so and then explode and drink a 12 pack in two days. I'll keep you posted.

Good Treats

I bought some non-fat fudgsicles that are only 60 calories. They have been a nice treat from time to time. They also saved the day when Lisa and I tried to eat some organic non-dairy chocolate ice cream. It was disgusting.

For the fish lovers out there, Lisa made me some ginger glazed salmon with wild rice and asparagus. It was awesome! Let me know if you want the recipe.

i want the recipe! sounds delish.

so sorry about the leg thing. i hear you, though...it is so hard to want to exercise when your body is hurting and you are DEAD TIRED from kids not sleeping. we are in the same boat. it's okay, though. i heard at a ww meeting that it is good to make changes one at a time. so maybe you can start small next week with the exercise, since you're doing so well with the eating habits change.

and which fudgesicles did you buy?

i'll be giving my update on monday...wish me luck, tomorrow is peter's b-day and there'll be cake, ice cream, yada yada yada.

Wow, you are doing great! Congrats on such a great weight loss! Don't be too hard on yourself when it comes to doing everything right all the time. I think one goal at a time is hard enough, so maybe you could just perfect the eating one first, and then add exercise when your back is feeling a little better and everyone is sleeping better!

I don't think that eating a snack after dinner is such a bad thing, especially if you are eating dinner early. I lost 80 lbs. and I always had a snack after dinner. I think that as long as you take in fewer calories than you need, you will still have a weight loss no matter when you eat them. Sometimes we make goals that are too hard to keep and then we give up.

Sounds like you are doing great! Keep up the good work!

I didn't even know where you were on your progress, but I am so proud of you. And you have stayed true to your coke goal, which with all that we have had going on is quite impressive. Yay Matt! I love you!
